Overview

localthreat is a website that helps EVE Online players identify friends from foes and assess the threat level their enemies may present. It parses character names from pasted chat transcripts or channel member lists and queries official and third-party services for affiliations and PvP statistics.

What it does

  • Listens for paste events (CTRL-V) on the page and parses pasted content for character names
  • Understands both chat member list and chat transcript formats
  • Queries official and third-party services for character affiliations and PvP statistics
  • Generates a report with a unique URL that can be shared with others
  • Report table can be sorted alphabetically or by any displayed stat
  • Pasting into an existing report adds non-duplicate names to it
  • Maintains a local browser history of visited reports, accessible via a History panel
  • Provides 5 color schemes, cycled through using a switch in the top right corner
